Grandfather of Climate Change Discovery Passes Away
by Conrad Langridge
RIP Wallace Broecker
Wallace Broecker, the US climate scientist who helped popularise the term "global warming" has died in New York at the age of 87.
Wally, as known by his pals, was among the first to connect emissions of CO2to rising temperatures back in the 1970s.
Maybe we should have listened to him...
Back in the ’70s the biggest environmental movements were centered around nuclear weapons and nuclear power, but Wally was critical in raising early alarms about climate change.
Think it’s safe to say we have seen some of that wacky weather he was talking about!
Who is worth "Celebrating" - Wally or Judge Judy?
For such a game changer his passing didn’t make the front page of news papers. :( like many other big time scientist he wasn't in it for the limelight… had you heard of him?
Sadly the world’s top 5 “celebrities”, according to Forbes, include environmental superstars: Kylie Jenner, The Rock and Judge Judy… Judge Judy…. FFS!
