Are your savings actually sustainable?

Getting into the Green
But have you thought about how green your pennies are?
Are your savings sustainable?
A lot of our major established banks have been found to be investing our money in unsustainable / unethical projects and businesses, including funding weapons and oil pipelines. With Barclays, Natwest and RBS being named among the worst and being targeted by Greenpeace campaigners.
They tend to operate an open book, so you can easily see exactly where your money is going.
What difference can we make?
One UK sustainable bank, Triodos only fund organisations and projects that are “making a positive difference to society”. They publish all their investments on their website page: "Know where your money goes" - which range from renewable energy projects to small organic food suppliers and charities.
And they said money didn’t grow on trees…
Take a look at this guide ranking banks based on their environmental and ethical practices (see above) or head over to the Ethical Consumer website money pages which covers ISAs, accounts and investment options too.
